It's been absolutely wonderful focusing on myself and getting back to the simpler things. For instance, I've been immersed in art my entire life. In the beginning it was doodling in tree forts with my older brother, sketching my life away through school, to art lessons with my Grandmother every summer who was a renowned oil painter and teacher. I remember drawing fruit side by side with siblings and cousins in my Grandmothers studio. She had us start with shapes, to shades, pastels, and finally acrylics. All driven by the philosophy to evoke the emotion as though you were really standing there. She'd say, " It's time to take five steps back and study what you've done and where to go next." Then on to college, with principles of visual communication, motivated design, to color theory. In all things moving and still, it's been a life study so far. So to get back to my roots while walking around this valley remembering the basics to the advanced, I've really come to enjoy my time. This adventure definitely made me appreciate all those who taught me to look farther than just the plan beautiful and study the why, then capture it. Now time to move on down the road.
